Hi I'm Rapps! I'm 22 and I'm male and I love animals. I currently have 10 rats and 1 dog. I have a rat blog where I post pictures of my own rats and reblog other people's rat photos as well as posting helpful care tips and advice whenever I can. You can see it here, RappsRats. I also volunteer as a dog walker at a local kennel twice a week.
General Hamster Story
If you need help with anything in Hamster Story feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help you out, but keep in mind I don't have all the answers! I can only tell you what I know from my experiences playing.
I'm also DESPERATELY seeking other rats to breed with, male or female. Just get in touch with me if you want to breed!
Here's a really basic Hamster Story guide I wrote. I hope it helps some of you new players!
Q. Will you sell me one of your rodents?
A. Any rodents I wish to sell will be placed in the market, please do not ask to buy any of my rodents.
Q. Can you breed a rodent for me?
A. Sure, just tell me what you want and I'll breed you one. I can't breed you Chipmunks, Shrews or Field Mice, they are unsellable and unabandonable.
Q. Will you buy one of my rodents?
A. I am ONLY interested in buying purebred rodents with a cap of at least 400. The species I am willing to buy are Gerbil (female), Chinchilla (male), Mice (any gender), Marmots (any gender).
Q. Will you breed with one of my rodents?
A. If I have a male up in for stud, you can breed with it, you don't need to ask me or tell me, it's an automated system, as long as you have the coins you can breed with them. If you have a male rodent and you want to breed with one of my females, just ask.
Yes, I draw fantastic coats! I will only draw coats for rats and mice, however. If you have a particular variety of rat or mouse you would like me to draw, please let me know and I'll give it a shot!
These are my real rats!
Leo and Jacob are two boys I adopted from Gumtree. They are very large males. They’re very sweet and well tempered, and they love their hammocks. They alternate between the flat hammock, cube hammock and tube hammock but they ALWAYS sleep in them together. Walter moved in with them a few weeks ago and in spite of being half their size, he is the alpha rat and he dominates both of them. They desperately wanted to sleep in Walter’s cube with him but he wouldn’t allow them to so I had to give them another cube just for them.
This is Heather and Claudia, Walter’s two sisters. They’ve both had surgery to remove mammary tumors, but they seem to be doing well! Unlike their brothers they’ve never had any respiratory problems. They are lovely girls and whenever I put my hand into the cage to say hello, they will always lick it all over. I have never had such licky rats before! Claudia is the rat in my avatar. Heather died on February 14th 2013, but her sister is still alive and well.
Milo. I don’t normally buy pet store rats, but Milo was all alone in the pet store. They normally sell rats in pairs but one woman INSISTED on taking one lone rat and poor Milo was left behind, so I took him home and had him neutered so he could live with females. He’s gotten pretty fat since he was neutered! He lives with Luciela, Alice and Ophelia.
This is Luciela. I’ll get a better photo someday! Luciela came from the same pet store as Milo. Generally I don’t buy pet store rats but after Milo’s older lady cagemates passed on, he needed new friends so I got Luciela and her sister Rafaela. Unfortunately, Rafaela passed on after battling a serious respiratory infection. This is why people discourage owners from buying from pet stores, these rats are not bred for health or temperment. Luciela is incredibly afraid of humans and it’s very difficult to hold her. I’m persevering though, and I hope that the friendly Milo will help her come out of her shell.
Alice and Ophelia are two baby girls I got as companions for Milo and Luciela. After Rafaela died, Luciela seemed to be quite down and it seemed a shame for just two rats to be in such a large cage. These mischievous little girls seem to have lifted their spirits. They’re both champagne hooded, Ophelia has a standard coat and Alice is a Rex. Their favorite thing to do is bug Milo. They climb all over him and run up to him and bite him, then run away again. I think they drive the poor guy nuts!
This is Thor. He is another rescue rat from Gumtree. Thor’s owner said he was around two years old (though I think he’s quite a bit younger), and he has lived alone his whole life. I have tried introducing him to Leo, Jacob and Walter, but Thor is very dominant around other males, so I've had him neutered. He is currently recovering from surgery and will be moving in with two females when he is healed. He used to be afraid of humans, but now he's totally fine.
This is my dog Sally, she's a white boxer. I like to embarrass her by dressing her up in hats and scarfs. I don't think she minds, she totally poses for the camera.
